Putnamville – John Trail died at his home in Cloverdale township of heart disease on Jan 26. He was a member of the 97th Ind Vols and by his own request was buried at Salem by the Post of this place of which he was a member.

Putnamville - John Trail died with heart disease at his home in Cloverdale Twp on the 26th inst and was buried at Salem on the 28th. He was a member of the 97th Ind Vol. and was buried at his own request by the Putnamville Post of which he was a member with the usual honor. He leaves a wife and four children.
